Senator Arlen Specter is trying to keep those plans on track and this morning... he led a delegation of elected officials into Scranton by train.
Senator Specter says more than $20-million dollars in federal funds has already been set aside for the project.

"We`re looking to the year 2025 when some 2800 people will be using the line daily. This is a great boom, interstructure for the future and its something i think we`ve got to move on with speed."
Lackawanna and Monroe Counties have already agreed to combine their rail authorites to help push for the restoration of passenger service.
