Trevorton Deadly Fire 2/28/06

Fast-moving flames rip through a Northumberland County home taking five lives along the way. Fire investigators in the small village of Trevorton are now faced with the daunting task of figuring out how the deadly fire started. Crews were called to this building on West Shamokin Street around 1:30 this morning. It didn`t take long for flames to destroy the four unit apartment house. At least two people escaped the fire... but many did not. WBRE News is told five people died in the blaze. Investigators spent the day sifting through debris. The building is unstable and firefighters say that has hampered their recovery effforts.
