Governor Rendell signed "House Bill 163" into law. Basically, it`s meant to change Pennsylvania`s unemployment compensation law. The bill ends the practice of taking out social security money from a senior`s unemployment check. ((John Yudichak/(D) 119th District)) "Instead of $5.00/$10.00 dollars, which is what they were getting under the old law, maybe they`ll be getting the full $125/150 dollar weekly benefit, which is substantial for many seniors." Roughly 13-thousand Pennsylvania seniors will benefit from the the bill... signed into law today in Scranton.
