An early Christmas gift for Luzerne County $125-thousand dollars forfeited by a doctor convicted of selling drugs illegally. In all, 1 and a quarter million dollars was seized by authorities from 78 year-old Dr. Harry Alexanderian, luzerne county`s cut 125-grand. Alexanderian was convicted last May of illegally prescribing prescription pills, over prescribing pills, and medicaid fraud. Luzerne County District Attorney Dave Lupas says the cash will go to help smaller communities who may have budgetary problems in funding their police department. Alexandarian was sentenced to 2-years probation, with the first six months under house arrest in his West Pittston home.
