Several Luzerne County communities are talking about coming together in the name of safety... and saving money.
The boroughs of Larksville, Plymouth and Edwardsville are looking to combine their efforts into one regional police department.
It`s a project two years in the making that officials believe will add safety to the streets, while saving nearly 50-thousand dollars in each community.
Representitive John Yudichak is pushing for the police merger.
"Its going to be a department that is going to give the communtites enough flexibility to provide the best possible service at the best possible price."
Officials are still trying to decide where the headquarters will be located and they`re hoping the plan will become a reality by 2006.
