A scare this morning at a Lackawanna County factory. Employees at the General Dynamics plant in Eynon were evacuated because of a furnace explosion. There were reports of smoke in the warehouse and the facility was evacuated around 11 a.m. Fire crews checked the building and workers were allowed to return around 11:45 a.m. No one was hurt. The plant makes parts for military tanks. No word on what caused the explosion. Production has since resumed at General Dynamics.
