And for the fourth time in three years -- teachers will
Hit the picket lines.
On Wednesday night, frustrated parents met with the school board.
Board members cited reasons why they can`t afford the contract... one they say would mean a big tax hike.
The contract sticking points are salary and health insurance.
The district wants teachers to switch to a cheaper health care plan, in exchange for a three-percent pay raise.
Teachers turned that down.
No word on any new talks either..
And as you can imagine.. parents are outraged.. and say the children.. are being forgotten in the process.
Joe Destefano of Old Forge, tells WBRE News
"Why don`t the school board and teachers go into one room and hash it out and come out with a contract? I don`t care how long it takes. If it takes one hour, one day, one month. Let`s do it for the kids!"
Once again -- no classes in Old Forge tomorrow.
Extra-curricular activities, however will go on as scheduled.
