More Than A Thousand Charges Filed Against Columbia Co. Man 9/13/05

State police are throwing the book at a Bloomsbug man accused of embezzling from his employer, United Environmental Services Incorporated of Drums. David Bechtel is charged with more than a thousand counts of identity theft, 80 counts of forgery, 2 counts of theft by deception to name a few, for a grand total of more than $121,000 dollars. Troopers say he wrote checks to himself from the company bank account, then "doctored" the books to conceal his crime. Bechtel allegedly used some of the company money to buy furniture for his house. He is free on $25,000 bail
