A Pennsylvania Patriot from Tioga County has died in Iraq. Staff Sergeant Ryan Ostrom of Liberty Pennsylvania died while on patrol in Habaniyah, Iraq. The 25 year old solider was only in Iraq for a month. He is a member of the 109th National Guard Unit out of Williamsport, Pennsylvnaia. He will be awarded the Purple Heart. Ostrum is one of seven Pennsylvania soliders who died were killed in Iraq since Saturday. Governor Ed Rendell has ordered State Flags to be lowered in memory of the soliders. In all, 92 Pennsylvanians have lost their lives fighting the war on terror.
