Local School Districts Receive Funding

GOVERNOR ED RENDELL STOPPED BY THE WYOMING VALLEY WEST SCHOOL DISTRICT TODAY.. WITH THE STATE`S CHECK BOOK IN HAND. SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN LUZERNE, LACKAWANNA AND WYOMING COUNTIES WILL SHARE THE MONEY. THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATORS INCREASED EDUCATION FUNDING BY NEARLY 300-MILLION DOLLARS STATE-WIDE.. GOOD NEWS -- SAY SCHOOL LEADERS. August Piazza Wyoming Valley West Supt said. "Certainly anytime a school district can secure money it`s beneficial to all of us to enhance our programs some that are in existence and some that we can look at putting into existence." THE NEW EDUCATION PACKAGE TRANSLATES INTO AN EXTRA 100-DOLLARS PER STUDENT EACH YEAR IN THE WYOMING VALLEY WEST SCHOOL DISTRICT.
