Minor Flooding in Lackawanna County 3/29/05

Updated: January 25, 2007
A flooded underpass in Lackawanna County got a little too deep for traffic this morning. One woman was driving through Carbondale Township when her car stalled midway through a pond of water because of a blocked drain on the roadway. The water level reached the bottom of her car door, stranding her inside the vehicle. Mayfield`s police chief tested the water in a pair of hip boots, then found another pair for the woman to wear, as he helped her to dry ground. Meanwhile `K-Line Building Supply` in Carbondale sells water pumps but today they found themselves in need of one. Employees coming into work found the basement full of water. The fire department was called in to help pump it out.
