Doug Lane Trial Begins 2/28/05

By: Import User
Updated: January 25, 2007
Radio station owner Doug Lane came to court with his lawyer, his mother and a friend today. The jury pool was wittled down from 62 to just 12 jurors. Six men and six women along with three alternates were picked this morning. Opening statements began just after lunch. Prosecutors told the jury this case is "ending 40 years of silent victims." They say the victims will testify that Lane gained their trust, then sexually molested them over a number of years. Six victims will testify, but Lane is only being brought up on charges for two of them. The statue of limitations has expired for the other four. Testimony will continue tomorrow, if weather permits.
