Outstanding Citizens Awards 2/24/05

Updated: January 25, 2007
John Oplinger and off-duty police officer Robert Aigeldinger stopped their cars when they saw a truck crashed on the side of the road last year. Six teens were inside, injured and unconscious. The men immediately pulled the first five people out but had trouble with the last who had a broken leg. Minutes after the last teen was freed, the entire truck went up in flames. Everyone injured has recovered and Oplinger and Aigeldinger now have outstanding citizen awards for their heroic efforts.
