Bomb Threat Bank Robbery 2/11/05

It happened here at the M&T bank on Market Street at around 11 o`clock this morning. Police immediately blocked off the section of Market Street between River and South Franklin streets. Everyone was evacuated from the bank and the Guard Center Insurance Company above it, then a bomb sniffing dog was sent inside. Police quickly determined it was not an explosive device. No one was injured in the incident. The man made off with more than a thousand dollars in cash. He`s described as a white man between 40 and 60 years old, with a large scar on his nose. He has a medium build and was wearing a grey sweatshirt at the time of the robbery. If you have any infromation, you`re asked to call Wilkes-Barre police at 826-8106.
