breaking news
A busy Scranton street that was closed because of damage from hurricane Ivan is reopening.
Flooding from Ivan caused a major subsidence on Pittston avenue. It washed away part of the street and a drainage tunnel.
Under that road, hundreds of cubic yards of dirt and earth have been used to fill the giant hole. Paving would have started today if it wasn`t for the sudden drop in temperatures.
That paving is now scheduled to begin Tuesday.
