Plane Crash Caused by Pilot Error

Updated: January 25, 2007
Pilot error is to blame for a plane crash that killed 2 men in Lackawanna county last year. 52-year-old Randy Jack Heiser of Phoenixville, and his passenger, 46-year old Brian Weiss of Spring City were killed last August when the small plane they were in crashed into a wooded area of Benton township off the runway at Seaman`s airport. The National Transportation Safety Board found that the pilot`s improper in-flight decision to go below the minimum altitude during flight conditions caused the crash.
