Blood Drive Breaks Records

Over 1,000 people proved that they had it in them. On July 14 & 15, 1111 people donated 885 usuable pints of blood at the NEPA News Alliance/American Red Cross Blood Drive. This multi-city Blood Drive was held to help meet the growing need for blood donations. A previous blood drive in January 2004 produced 707 usable pints. The Blood Drive was held at The Waterfront in Wilkes-Barre where 384 people presented/ 326 productive units (pints) collected; Genetti`s in Hazelton where 282 people presented/ 235 productive units and the Radisson where 324 people presented/ 239 productive units. A additional drive was held in Pottsville at the Salvation Army where 121 people donated 85 usable units. The NEPA News Alliance is a partnership between WBRE-TV, WYOU-TV, The Scranton Times, The Citizen`s Voice, The Hazleton Standard-Speaker, The Pottsville Republican and Shamrock Radio
