Runners Start Their Thanksgiving Morning with a Run for the Diamonds

Berwick,Columbia county- A couple-thousand people tried their luck at winning a diamond this morning in Columbia County.
The 103rd "Run for the Diamonds." is a Thanksgiving tradition.
The 9-mile course weaved its way through the hills of Berwick.
The top male winner won a diamond ring and the top female winner got a diamond pendant.
We spoke to them after the race
"It feels real good win I've done real good in races because every-time in races and every-time you can beat the competition it's always a really good feeling." said Derek Nakluski Top Male Winner
"Its my first year running this race its my first time running this distance Ive never a 9 miler before "I was like when is this going to end but um it ended so it was ok laughs " added Kara Millhouse the Top Female Winner.
Some of those who took part said even though they didn't win the prize it gave them a chance to work up an appetite and burn lots of calories before eating lots of pumpkin pie.
