Phil Schoener, a native of Orwigsburg, PA in Schuylkill County,  joined the WBRE Sports Team as an Anchor/Reporter in September of 2003.

Phil has extensive experience covering Pennsylvania sports. For seven years, beginning in high school, he did play-by-play of local high school sports for the Pottsville Broadcasting Company. After graduating from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in May of 1997, Phil started his TV career in Greeneville, Mississippi. He later returned to Pennsylvania and worked at WFMZ-TV in Allentown.

A three-time broadcast award winning sportscaster, Phil also worked as the Assistant Sports Director at WJHL-TV in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee/Virginia market. Besides covering sports, Phil enjoys spending time with family and friends.
