Wednesday, Jul 29, 2009 @05:41pm EDT What's up with Brett Favre? Brett finally decides to hang it up after entertaining the idea of playing for Minnesota Vikings. As a long life, Packer fan, this is something I did not want to see.
In a few years, people will forget the fact that he spent the last year as a member of the New York Jets. His legacy will remain entrenched in Green Bay, this could have changed though if he played for the rival Vikings. Many Packer fans would have found it many difficult to forgive, many would have seen this as a sin. Time will heal the relationship between Favre, the Packers organization, and their die hard cheese heads. Give it a few years, then bring Brett back for a final goodbye from the Green Bay faithful. After all , he did bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay, where it all started. He is and will always remain my favorite quarterback of all-time. I do think that Packer management did Brett wrong though. He is old enough however to put this matter behind him, and enjoy retirement. It's time for Brett to sit back, do some hunting and fishing down in Mississippi. Until Brett is not playing this season, some people will continue to question whether he is actually finished or not. Oh I hope not, Brett needs to listen to his body and stay retired. Brett, enjoy retirement. We enjoyed watching you play for the past 16 season, it was our pleasure. Thank you for the memories. |
