Wednesday, Jul 15, 2009 @05:18pm EDT When the Yankees came to Moosic, a management group called Mandalay Baseball Properties took over. Mandalay has been very successful group with their way of doing business in Ohio and California, but it doesn't seem to work in Northeast PA.
Have you noticed no buzz about going to the stadium to see a game. We cover the Yankees on Eyewitness Sports, but where as the buzz gone? More importantly, where have all the giveaways gone? Remember Bat Day, Dollar Dog Night, Cap Day, and so many other giveaways that were featured at the stadium? When the Red Barons where here, you couldn't listen to the radio, watch tv, or read the newspaper without hearing about their upcoming games and all the giveaways they featured. Giveaways is what Minor League Baseball is all about! A new stadium is not the answer to the decreased attendance in Northeastern PA. The answer is giveaways! Reading has an old stadium and it's packed, Lehigh Valley has a new stadium and that's packed as well. Why? The answer is in the giveaways. They make it seem like your getting something for free and it offers complete family enjoyment. Bring back the bobble heads, bats and cap give aways, and the buzz of going to the ballpark! |
