Wednesday, Jul 15, 2009 @09:45am EDT WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Luzerne County Sheriff Michael Savokinas says he is the target of a political vendetta and wants the F.B.I. to come in and clear his name and that of his office.
Sheriff Savokinas says two of his deputies found suspected marijuana in the back seat of a car used to transport inmates. The I-Team was first to tell you about a small amount of cocaine found in the sheriff's own patrol car in April. He came under fire for not filing a written report with Wilkes-Barre police. Although he did make a verbal report with the police and a county detective. He even showed us the evidence bag with the cocaine inside--that case prompted an F.B.I. Probe. This time he called in Wilkes-Barre police to investigate. The sheriff believes someone or some group is trying to force him out of office. |
