Wednesday, Jun 17, 2009 @04:53pm EDT What's up with Major League Baseball? It was reported yesterday that Sammy Sosa was one of the 104 players who tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003. We don't know who cheated, and I think most people assume that a vast majority of these players in the 90s were on some sort of steroid.
Let's just pick out the years most of these guys were juicing and put an asterisk next to their "records." Let's have a home run leader who is actually drug free. Can you imagine this? You're touring the Baseball Hall of Fame in Copperstown, and you walk down to the steroid wing. This wings features Barry Bonds, Mark Mcgwire, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, and your latest inductee is Sammy Sosa. Major League Baseball did nothing about this problem when they had to know what was going on in. These guys heads were ballooning up just like their home run totals. Why would Commissioner Bud Selig have cared though? Major League Baseball was turning in record fans and watched their revenue grow $6 billion. |
