Reported by: Jeff Chirico Wednesday, Jun 10, 2009 @05:49pm EDT Spring cleaning isn't just for the inside of your home.
It's also a good idea to tackle the landscape and yard outside your home.
But, before you start -- you might want to have your mower and other yard equipment tuned up.
Here's more in tonight's Angie's List report.
Service specialist Len Johnson says "we're going to look at the air filter, the belts and all the other components that are moving, working parts." Your lawnmower is one of the most used machines in your garage -- and often the most neglected. "If you skip out on repairing your mower, it will only last you a couple of years." Warning signs that your mower needs maintenance can include difficulty starting, a smoking engine or reduced power. "It's important each spring to have your mower tuned up. It's going to last longer and run better and you should also have the blade sharpened." The service should also include a check on the spark plugs, oil, battery and belts. In today's economy, it's important to get a service check to prevent costly repairs or footing a bigger bill for a new lawn mower. ![]() |
