Wednesday, Jun 10, 2009 @04:36pm EDT What's up with the new Yankee Stadium? Ever since it opened earlier this season, it seems that anyone and everyone is crashing the ball into the right field fence.
In 29 games at the new Yankee stadium, there have already been 105 home runs hit. At this pace, there would be 293 long balls hit season in the new stadium, leaving them just 10 of the record set at Coors Field in 1999. At first, people said it was a wind tunnel for the reason all these home runs were being hit. Accuweather.com said that 20 of the 105 home runs would have not gone out at the old Yankee Stadium. The wind tunnel theory like home runs has gone over the right field wall, where 63 of the 105 home runs have been hit. Do you want to the know the real reason for the all the home runs? It's much simpler than the wind tunnels people have blamed. The real reason is that the walls are slightly shorter at the new Yankee Stadium. The Yankees say the dimensions are exactly the same, now what's up with that? |
