Wednesday, Jun 3, 2009 @04:34pm EDT George Curry, his 413 wins, and his six states title will join Super Bowl Champion Joe Theismann on the sideline this Sunday at Rutgers Stadium when the Northeast All-Stars take on the New Jersey All-Stars. Curry will run the offense, and when Theismann was asked why he chose Curry, he said “I know why he’s won over 400 games; he’s a wonderfully bright intense individual who has a passion for coaching.”
Formerly known as the Governor’s Bowl, this year the annual game between New York and New Jersey has been opened up to the entire northeast. Curry and Theismann will face another Super Bowl Champion as Phil Simms will coach the New Jersey squad. Now played at Rutgers Stadium, the game looks to draw huge crowds in its inaugural year. Six players from the area are participating on the inaugural Northeast team. Curry looks to strut the sidelines one last time on Sunday at 3pm at Rutgers Stadium. |
