A local pharmacist, Frank DePietro took over the business from corporate last year. He remodeled the inside of the store at 208 South Main Street in Moscow. The Salt Shaker Christian Store on Main Street in Honesdale was scheduled to close at the end of May. The Free Methodist Church in Beach Lake ran the store. The pastor says the store has put a financial strain on the church. The Salt Shaker Christian Store opened in 1972 as a Christian book store. A Barnes & Noble will soon move into this historic building at the corner of Fourth and Market Streets in Lewisburg. Bucknell University has signed a letter of intent with the bookseller to design and manage a university bookstore. It will open next summer in downtown Lewisburg, Union county. A Tractor Supply Company Store has opened in Tunkhannock, Wyoming County. The grand opening of the company's 50th Pennsylvania store at the Route 6 Plaza was held last week. Tractor Supply Company stores carry all sorts of farming, lawn and garden equipment. Bayada Nurses opened a new office in East Stroudsburg in May. It provides coordinated nurse home care for patients in Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties. The office employs 50 full time staff. |
