A jeweler in Scranton gets new digs and a popular clothing store is closing shop. Consumer reporter Jeff Chirico recaps November's top headlines in our local business report.

Steve & Barry's will close its nearly 200 remaining locations. The bankrupt low- cost clothing store is holding liquidations sales to get rid of its merchandise. That could last another 4 to 6 weeks. Steve & Barry's has stores in Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Frackville.

Sarno and Sons Formal Wear is temporarily operating out of Kathy's Bridal Boutique in Edwardsville. It will move next door when renovations to it's new store are complete. It is owned by Mark Sarno who says the opening comes upon the closing of the Wilkes-Barre location that bore the company name but was not owned by the Sarno family.

A new Price Chopper has opened on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard, not far from Wegmans. Besides groceries, it sells bagels, sushi, pizza, sandwiches and has a pharmacy. It's 14 thousand square feet bigger than the one it replaces on Route 309. That Price Chopper is open 24 hours a day.

In Dallas, Weis Markets has finished its expansion. It added 6 grocery aisles, a pizza shop, coffee bar, pharmacy, upgraded its bakery, and added a 30- seat cafe that sells beer.

And in Scranton, Boccardo Jewelers has moved up the street. It's now located on the corner of Jefferson and Spruce, across from the Radisson. It's expanded its line of jewelry and watches and added a bar to serve cocktails and coffee to shoppers. Alex Boccardo says "our biggest reason for moving is because we have parking now. Parking is a big deal in Scranton and we make it convenient for our customers now. They can pull in and pull out very easily and convenient for them. The third generation-business has been based in the Electric City for 75 years.
