State College-based Uni-Mart will close 45 corporate-owned stores including some in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. The company has filed for bankruptcy. Uni-Mart has nearly 300 company and dealer operated convenience stores and gas stations including Choice Cigarette Discount Outlets. The company is expected to release the list of affected stores this week. Motor Twins Returns In Luzerne County, Motor Twins Auto Mart is back! Company owner Steve Morenko reopened the business in Wyoming last week. He sold the former Motor Twins Auto Mart to DelBalso in 2000 but never sold the name. Now, 60-year-old Motor Twins has a new location at 2010 Wyoming Avenue. Tractor Rolls In Construction's underway on the new Tractor Supply Company Store on San Souci Parkway near Wilkes-Barre. It's the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States. This is the 47th store in Pennsylvania. The store's tentatively slated to open in August. Rodano's On The Square The old Campus Billiards in Wilkes-Barre's Public Square is being renovated into a game room and restaurant. It'll be called Rodano's On The Square--replacing the nearby Rodano's Pizza on North Main Street. Owner, Frank Rodano says he sees his new restaurant as a place to have a great meal while enjoying the stores, movies and shows in the downtown. Rodano's On The Square is slated to open in early August. |
