Margaritas and enchiladas -- that's just some of the fine fare you'll find at Mi Tolteca on Birney Avenue in Moosic. The Mexican restaurant opened in February. The cinco de Mayo celebration lasts all weekend beginning Friday night. Mi Tolteca is owned by the same people who own La Tolteca on Mundy Street in Wilkes-Barre. Pasta and More/Laflin Remember the Trillo? The Pittston area restaurant closed suddenly in 2002. Now the place has a new owner and a whole new look. It's called the Bella vino. Crews have gutted the inside and are putting the finishing touches on the italian steakhouse. We're told it will have live entertainment every night. The manager says the restaurant on route 315 in laflin will open in may --out of respect to the first restaurant in that building --the mayfair. Pizza Place Plans/Old Forge Another popular italian eatery may be getting bigger. Acaro and Genell's in Old Forge wants to build a five thousand square foot addition to its main street restaurant. The expansion will include more dining space, a take-out area and a small patio for outdoor seating. The restaurant's now waiting for the borough to give the green light. Nine Dollar Threads/Wilkes-Barre Township And there's a new place to shop if you're looking for a bargain. Low-cost clothing store Steve and Barry's has opened in the East End Centre off Kidder Street in Wilkes-Barre Township. That's behind the Red Lobster. This is chain's thirteenth store in Pennsylvania. The store sells clothes for less than 20 bucks --but right now everything is just $8.98. Store employees say they don't know when that special will end. |
