In local business news --a new nightclub is lighting up the Electric City and a well-known company is filing bankruptcy.

Diamond Glass Files Bankruptcy

It's much more than a financial crack---Diamond Glass has filed for reorganization under chapter 11 Bankruptcy. The Kingston-based business that replaces and repairs automotive windows will stay open during the process and hope to sell the company at auction in June. Diamond operates 217 service centers and 900 mobile installation vehicles in 42 states.

Call Center Hangs Up

275 Employees of the JC Penney call center in Moosic lost their jobs last month. Company officials blame the closing on a drop in phone catalog orders since more people shop online.

New Clothing Warehouse

Good job news in Luzerne County --the Boden Company opened its first American-based warehouse and call center in Pittston. The U.K-based-clothier plans to employ more than a hundred people.

Good News In Forest City

Forest City officials call it the best economic news in years. JEC Technologies announced it will build a four-million dollar plant inside the Vision 2000 Industrial Park. The Pittsburgh company manufactures electronic circuit boards and plans to hire more than 260 new people within the next 5-years. Construction on the Susquehanna County plant is expected to begin this Spring.

New Nightclub in Scranton

And there's a new party place in Scranton. The Colloseum Nightclub and Lounge opened next to the Hilton on Adams Avenue last month. Dance floor in one room --a Roman-themed lounge in another. Guest DJs, from as far away as California, will spin everything from disco to hip-hop. The club's open Wednesdays through Saturdays.
