The fitness center held an open house to show how children can have fun and be healthy at the same time. All workouts are supervised by an adult trainer. There are nearly 3 dozen Fitwize franchises across the country.
NEW BIZ INCUBATING: Also in the Electric City -- a new company is coming to the Scranton Enterprise Center. Virginia-based SRA International is opening two offices this month at the business incubator on Lackawanna Avenue. The defense and government technology consulting firm will only employ a few workers here at first. NEW DIGS FOR SALON: In Forty Fort --a developer puffing new life into an old cigar factory on Rutter Avenue. Last month, Sakari Salon opened on the second floor. It offers massages, facials, nail treatments and cuts. There's a color bar and a semi- private room to get those extensions you want to keep secret. CLOSER TO PEOPLE: In Plains, Wachovia Securities moving its financial advisors closer to the people. This office in the Waterfront Professional Center opened last week. Another office will be unveiled in Scranton this weekend. The two branches are taking the place of the regional office in Moosic. CHOW DOWN: In Monroe County, a new place to get some chow. Chili's Grill and Bar opened November 5th at the Crossroads Mall at Route 611 in Bartonsville. The restaurant sits over 200 people and will employ over 100 full and part time workers. |
