“Solid” Growth A Wilkes-Barre IT company gets national recognition for its phenomenal growth. Solid Cactus ranks 255 on Inc. magazine's list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. The e-commerce firm's revenue grew by 922% from 2003 to 2006. Its staff has more than tripled since the beginning of last year. New Biz in Electric City In downtown Scranton, the business incubator known as Scranton Enterprise Center is welcoming a new tenant. A small business known as Tidgewell Associates has been approved to move in. The company customizes software for healthcare and other organizations. Tidgewell's president says he expects to expand staff and the business' presence in the Electric City. Starbucks Expands Java lovers in Bloomsburg are raising their mugs to the first Starbucks in Columbia County. The restaurant started pouring its brew last week at 34 East Main Street. And Monroe County caffeine cravers won't be left out. A Starbucks opened August 30th on the 700 block of Main Street in Stroudsburg. Officials expect the chain to bring a more upscale feel to the downtown and customers believe it’s long overdue. Diner Re-opens There's a new restaurant in Pittston to get your morning Joe. Actually it's an old place with new owners. Triangle Diner-- which has been around for more than 50 years --at the corner of Main and Plank Streets --has been renovated inside. The eatery serves breakfast and lunch everyday from 7am to 3pm and 7am to 1pm on Sundays. |
