BOSTON -- It's the show that spins its way into millions of home every night.  Wheel of Fortune recently shot "college week" in Boston and invited Eyewitness News to come along.

After talking with Pat Sajak and Vanna White, we found Wheel of Fortune spells real fortune for the duo.

Eyewitness News went behind the scenes of Wheel of Fortune's on-location taping here in September.  We sat down with Pat Sajak, Vanna White, and their executive producer to talk about what goes on behind the scenes, and when preparing to tape on-location.

"Yeah, 27 years of shows," said Sajak. "It goes by quickly and who knew when we started that we'd still be doing this thing."

"It's been great," said White.  "It seems like yesterday we started. I can't believe it's been so many years, but we have so much fun."

These two admit their jobs fall under the cushy category.  They work just 35 days a year, but they're long hours.  The crew tapes 15 shows in three days when they're on location.

"As soon as we're done with one show, I go back to my dressing room, rip off my clothes, someone gives me new clothes, they give me cards with the information for new players. I go out, and I meet them<" said Sajak.  "And I do that five times. So, by the time the day is over, I have no clue what I just did. "

"I wake up, have coffee, work out, and get ready for the shows," said White.  "I do five shows and go home and go to bed and wake up and do it all over again."

They've done an estimated 7,000 shows in less than 30 years.  And believe it or not, Pat and Vanna still get along.

"We don't see that much of each other. For example, we're going to do three weeks of shows in three days, and I'm not going to see her again for three weeks," joked Sajak.  "I mean, if every marriage were like that, there'd never be a divorce."

Harry Friedman has been the show's executive producer for 15 years.

"It's an unusual and genuine pleasure to not only work with a show people like and have liked for a long time, but also to work with real pros like Pat and Vanna who are just the same way off-camera as they are on," said Friedman.
