Several foster children in central Pennsylvania received permanent homes Friday. This is the second year Lycoming County is celebrating National Adoption Month. 17 children have been adopted in the county so far this year. John Beveridge and his wife Kelly, of Avis, have served as foster parents to a number of children. They couldn't wait to adopt three-year-old Kasha. John said, "I kept telling Kelly, I was like, 'Is it November 6th yet?' I was like a kid waiting for Christmas. I couldn't wait. And then when they finally said, 'Kasha Grace Beveridge,' you know my heart was beating and it was just like you can't explain how happy you are to have her." Statewide, there are over 2,700 children in foster care awaiting adoption. ![]() |
