Reported by: Eyewitness News Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @11:10pm EST SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Lackawanna County has several races we're following. One of the most heated is also for judge of the Court of Common Pleas. Both candidates are assistant district attorneys.
Democrat Margaret Bisignani Moyle defeated Republican Frank Castellano for the open seat on the bench. “Margie" has worked 21 years as Assistant District Attorney in Pennsylvania and in Miami. Two judges were also seeking retention and won. Former Lackawanna County D.A., Judge Michael Barrasse and Terrence Nealon from Dunmore, who stands on his 11-year record. It looks like incumbent Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty will be enjoying another term in the Electric City. He ran officially unopposed. But his long-time opponent Gary DiBileo recently started running a write-in challenge. Doherty has been mayor of Scranton for the past 8 years. DiBileo's write-in votes haven’t been officially counted. |
