Reported by: Eyewitness Sports Saturday, Oct 31, 2009 @10:00pm EDT The Nittany Lions scored three touchdowns in the 4th quarter to pull away from Northwestern, winning 34-13.
Penn State was down 13-10 at the half. They tied the score on their opening drive of the third quarter with a field goal. Then Brandon Beachum scored from 3 yards out early in the fourth. That was the first of three touchdowns on consecutive offensive plays for the Lions. On the first play of Penn State's next possession Darryl Clark found Derek Moye for a 53-yard touchdown. On their next possession, Evan Royster broke a 69-yard TD run on the first play. The three TD's came within 3:40. Penn State will take on Ohio State next week with second place in the Big Ten on the line. The game is at 3:30PM. |
