Reported by: Jeff Chirico Thursday, Oct 29, 2009 @05:35pm EDT Three different companies are recalling window blinds because children could become tangled in the cords.
The first is Bed Bath and Beyond which is recalling their Dublin Energy Solution Roman Shades made by Louis Hornick and Company. So far there have been two reports of children becoming tangled in the exposed inner cord. If you have the shade, stop using it and call the manufacturer at (800) 517-3612 for a free repair kit. For more information, click on this CPSC link. Meanwhile Hanover Direct is recalling their faux suede Roman shades after a two-year-old became tangled in the cord. The recall involves all faux suede room darkening roman shades with style number 12810a. If you have one of these shades you can call Hanover Direct at (800) 524-0597 for a free repair kit. For more information, click on this CPSC link. Ikea is also recalling window blinds because strangulations can occur if the blind's looped bead chain is not attached to the wall or the floor with the tension device. This recall involves all Isdans, Tupplur and Enje roller blinds. If you have one of the blinds you should check to make sure the tension device is attached to the wall or floor. If not you should stop using the roller blinds and contact Ikea to receive a free repair kit. For more information, click on this CPSC link ![]() |
