Reported by: Jeff Chirico Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009 @04:52pm EDT If you're hoping to catch the Phillies battle the Yankees in the World Series, watch out for scams.
The state attorney general says con artists are targeting sports fans looking to score tickets. Some may be selling fake tickets.
Here are some ways to protect yourself. Buy tickets from a reputable seller. StubHub.com is one. Never use cash or wire-transfer money. Use a credit card to pay. If the tickets are fake -- you can dispute the charges. And be wary of private sellers who refuse to give out contact information. You're better off going with companies you've heard. AAA is offering deals for about 800 bucks. For more information about the scams, check out the Attorney General’s website at www.attorneygeneral.gov. ![]() |
