Tuesday, Oct 20, 2009 @06:24pm EDT Choosing a cell phone can be a challenging task and there are many things to consider before deciding on the right one for you. Angie hicks from Angie's List says, "When you're thinking about a cell phone, outline exactly what you are going to use it for, how much you are going to use it before you head into talk to a cell phone company. "
Many of the newer phones have extra bells and whistles that you might or might not use. Make sure you know what you want. Also, it's important to read the contract. Hicks warns, "Understand how long the contract is for and any hidden fees that might come along as well so you know exactly what you are getting into." Another thing to check out is coverage. Ask the carrier to take the phone for a test drive to make sure you get good coverage in the common places you'll be using the phone. And when it comes to picking a plan, Hicks explains, "You need to evaluate plans and usage habits, and make sure you get one that matches up well. You don't want to be paying for a lot of extra minutes if you're not going to use them because that's just added costs." If you're realistic about how often you'll use your phone, you'll avoid paying more than you need for service. |
