East Stroudsburg University of
Pennsylvania is a comprehensive, dynamic
university offering 68 graduate and 20 graduate degree programs to more
than 7,200 full time students. The university provides an exceptionally
personal experience to each and every student. ESU’s programs
and facilities proactively accommodate changing times and higher
demands for academic excellence as evidenced by, among other
achievements, having again been granted maximum accreditation this
summer by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States
Association of Colleges and Schools.
The university’s true strengths aren’t merely in the sheer numbers of academic programs. Research assistantships, volunteer activities, and study abroad programs are other common ways for students to broaden their perspective, gain experience and enhance their marketability in the career world. Another asset is the university’s futuristic new Science and Technology Center, which will be the largest academic building on campus, will be completed in time for the fall 2008 semester. The Center, designed to empower students to take ideas from concept to reality, will provide access to multiple educational resources, and will accommodate faculty and students with the necessary tools to succeed and excel in the new professions of the 21st century. The new 124,000 square foot Science and Technology building will include: 17 teaching laboratories; 9 research laboratories; 5,000 square feet of other laboratory space; 9 classrooms; a planetarium; a multi-use, 200 seat auditorium, a rooftop observatory, a large reception area; and faculty offices. These advancements, coupled with 68 undergraduate and 20 graduate degree programs, and over 300 teaching faculty committed to academic excellence, have earned ESU a reputation as a first rate institution of higher learning. Beyond academics, there are some 100 student clubs, organizations and honor societies and 19 intercollegiate varsity sports for men and women available.
