Meet The Staff: Eva Mastromatteo
Eva Mastromatteo
From the Mahoning Valley to the Wyoming Valley….hello! I am very happy to be a part of your Northeast Pennsylvania news team.
I am from neighboring Ohio, a native of the Youngstown area, which is just over an hour between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
Prior to working at WBRE I was an anchor, reporter and producer at the ABC affiliate in Youngstown for the past few years and continued working there when WYTV—the ABC station, joined news operations with the local CBS and Fox affiliates.
I started my professional news career as a radio reporter in northeast Ohio then went on to work in television news in West Virginia, and later Mansfield, Ohio before heading home to work in Youngstown.
I hold a double-major in Mass Media Communication and Public Relations from the University of Akron in Ohio. While there, I took the opportunity to be a part of WZIP-FM, reporting news and sports on the student run radio station, along with writing for the university newspaper and holding the post of president for the ‘Women in Communication,’ and ‘Student Toastmasters’ organizations.
I am an advocate of being involved in the community where you live. Prior to being in northeast Pennsylvania I was a member of the Mahoning Valley 20/30 Young Professionals Club, active in a local catholic church, a supporter of the American Heart Association, and a long-time member of the Greater Youngstown Italian Festival Committee.
I enjoy the outdoors, cheering on Ohio sports teams, cooking, baking and spending time with loved ones. I look forward to taking in the venues and other amenities here in northeast Pennsylvania.
I hope you join me each weekday morning on WBRE Eyewitness News.
