Kyla Campbell was hired in October 2008 as a reporter for WBRE and WYOU, as well as the weekend morning anchor for WBRE Eyewitness News.
She is a proud graduate of Berwick Area High School and Wilkes University. She earned her degree in Communications and her Secondary Education certification. While at Wilkes, Kyla played on the University's first-ever women's lacrosse team and also covered sports for the Citizens' Voice. She went on to Syracuse University, where she earned her Master's of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.
For those of you with a good memory, Kyla had her first on-air gig in the summer of 2005, covering news from Washington D.C. as an intern for WBRE. Then, she worked for nine months at WKTV in Utica, NY and for just over two years at WJAC in Johnstown-Altoona-State College. During that time, she reported, anchored, and even covered sports for a while!
Throughout her career, Kyla has had several stories go national, including coverage of the Central New York flooding in 2006 and a story on a Central Pennsylvania man with a pet bear! One of the most unique opportunities she had came in her
first week working here, when she snagged a brief interview with former President Bill Clinton.
Kyla loves photography and scrapbooking, as well as working out. She and her husband, Nate, love hiking and watching sports - especially Penn State football!
Now that Kyla's back home, she looks forward to meeting you, the viewers at home, and sharing the stories most important to you. Feel free to email your ideas to her at
