Archbald, Lackawanna County--- The Lackawanna County Coroner confirms that 46 year old Gregory Vineski of Scranton took his own life one week after a fellow Corrections Officer was murdered by an inmate. Vineski was found in a vehicle near a shooting range in Archbald. Sources close to the case say Vineski may have been on duty at the Federal Prison in Canaan ,Wayne County when 34 year old Eric Williams was stabbed to death by a yet unnamed inmate last Monday. The I-Team confirmed that Williams was attacked shortly after he and another guard had searched a cell. The FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office have not commented on the Williams' case nor have they identified the inmate. Eyewitness News reached out to the Union that represents Corrections Officers and did not receive a return phone call as of late Tuesday afternoon. Prison officials would only say that Vinseki was an employee of the Canaan facility.
