Kaitlyn's Pink Out Project

Forty Fort, Luzerne County-A local high school student is doing her part for an area non-profit.

Kaitlyn DeRemer raised three-thousand dollars for Candy's Place -- a cancer resource center in Forty Fort.

The Hanover Area High School Senior Student raised the money at a pink-out football game in October where she sold over 600 t-shirts, The fundraiser is a part of DeRemer's senior project. She presented the check to Candy's Place today. She says she chose this organization because the cause was close to her heart

"Well my grandmother is a 9-year cancer survivor, and my goal was to find somebody to give it to that does cancer programs."

The donation will go towards a month's worth of programs at Candy's Place.
