The annual arts and culture grants ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 16, beginning at 5:30 pm with a reception in Shopland Hall, fourth floor, at The Scranton Cultural Center.

The organizations that receive annual funding from Lackawanna County will be recognized. The 2013 Arts & Culture Community Project Grants' recipients will also be announced.

Representatives from The Pocono Arts Council will also be on hand to unveil the 2012-13 Lackawanna County Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts grantees. The awards will be made to individuals and organizations that offer various quality of life programs in our community.

The event is open to the public. If you would like to attend, please contact Maureen McGuigan, the County's Deputy Director of Arts & Culture, at 570-963-6590, ext. 102 or by email at arts-culture@lackawannacounty.org, to make a reservation.

The Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department was created in 2005 to support the arts and culture in our community and to provide access to the arts for all residents. The department offers: grants, free programming, workshops, and training for artists and arts organizations. The work of the department is supported through an arts and culture fee, which generates approximately $1.3 million annually.
