Expert report on Kevin Miller hit-and-run expected shortly

Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County- Sources close to the investigation of the tragic hit-and-run death of Kevin Miller say they're expecting a considerable progression of the case when an expert report arrives shortly. Prosecutors declined to elaborate on specifics when reached Friday night.

Miller was struck and killed 12 weeks ago tonight. He had been crossing the street near the intersection of North Main and North while holding his father's hand when he was hit.

Police and witnesses pieced together information, and quickly released a description of a suspect vehicle - a red Pontiac Grand Am. Two weeks after the Miller was killed, police located that suspect vehicle in Plains Township. That, in turn, led investigators to Thomas Letteer, a 22-year-old Plains Township man who lived with his parents. District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said she believed Letteer was the man responsible for the hit-and-run death of Kevin Miller.

An thorough analysis by a forensic expert of the intersection near where Miller was struck and killed was conducted in mid-January. Police and prosecutors have been awaiting the results.
