FNCB 'SOUPerbowl Friday' Helps Feed the Hungry

First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, recently raised $800 for area soup kitchens and food pantries through a bank wide "SOUPerbowl Friday" employee dress down day.

On the Friday before the Superbowl, employees were encouraged to replace their traditional "bankers attire" in favor of jeans and gear from their favorite NFL team - all for a small donation.

"Thanks to the spirit and generosity of our employees, SOUPer Bowl Friday was a huge success raising much needed funds for members of our community," said Senior Vice President, Human Resources Officer Donald Ryan.

Proceeds from the event were divided between four local organizations; St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, Scranton; CEO/Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, Wilkes-Barre; Wayne County Food Pantry, Honesdale; and Helping Hands Food Pantry, Stroudsburg.

SOUPerbowl Friday represents part of FNCB's larger Community Caring initiative. Through outreach programs, donations and an employee volunteer network, FNCB is committed to helping the communities they serve.

Representatives from First National Community Bank (FNCB) present a $250 donation to St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen Manager Thomas DiPietro. The donation was part of FNCB's SOUPerbowl Friday bank-wide employee fundraiser where employees were encouraged to replace their traditional "bankers attire" in favor of jeans and gear from their favorite NFL team. Proceeds from the event were divided between four local organizations; St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen, Scranton; CEO/Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, Wilkes-Barre; Wayne County Food Pantry, Honesdale; and the Helping Hands Food Pantry, Stroudsburg.
