Tamaqua High School Students Musical Accomplishments

Schuylkill County- Seventeen students from Tamaqua Area High School have been selected to participate in the 2013 Schuykill County Chorus Festival. This year's four day vocal festival will be hosted by North Schuylkill High School February 26th, 28th, March 1st and 2nd. The event will conclude on Saturday, March 2nd with a concert for the public at 2:00 pm in the school's auditorium.

Molly Betz, a senior at Tamaqua Area High School, recently participated in the 2013 District 10 Chorus Festival. The festival was a three day event in which students from Berks, Carbon, Monroe, Schuylkill, Lehigh and Northampton County were selected to participate through a vocal audition held previously in October. The festival was hosted by Berks Catholic High School in Reading. The guest conductor for the festival was Dr. Russell Shelley, Director of Choral Studies at Juniata College. The festival culminated in performances for the public on February 8th and 9th.

Molly is the daughter of Doug and Kristine Betz of Tamaqua.
