Newsmakers to Air Sunday, February 10: Victims Resource Center

The Victims Resource Center will be the topic of this Sunday's Newsmakers on WBRE and WYOU. 

The program is hosted by Senior Producer Jayne Ann Bugda and the I-Team's Andy Mehalshick.

Bugda and Mehalshick will have as their guests Janet MacKay, Executive Director Of VRC and Patrick Rushton- Education/Outreach Manager. The Victims Resource Center has been the voice for victims of crime in our region for almost 40 years. MacKay and Rushton will discuss the many programs and services the center offers victims of crime and their families. They will also discuss primary prevention, importance of bystander intervention and how VRC is working with the King's Juvenile Justice College Mentoring program.

Newsmakers will air this Sunday, February 10th at 11 am on WBRE-TV and will rebroadcast at 11:30 am on WYOU-TV.

National Crime Victims Rights Week which is April 21-27

Victims Resource Center will hold its annual Take Back the Night March and Rally Wednesday, April 24. The march will start at 5:30 at the Wilkes University Henry Student Center and the King's College Sheehy-Farmer Student Center.

Participants will march from both locations to Public Square where they will meet and proceed to the Victims Resource Center on Franklin Street for the Rally.
